Apertures
Apertures is an audio series that explores moments when inner life becomes briefly visible — through listening, speaking, memory, art, and relationship.
Created by psychotherapist Jonathan David Moss, featuring original music composed for the series, Apertures draws on psychoanalytic sensibility, cultural scenes, and lived experience to attend to the subtle conditions that make certain forms of speech, contact, and reflection possible. Episodes are informed by psychoanalysis without centering theory or technique.
Rather than offering advice or explanation, Apertures invites a slower, more careful way of listening — one oriented toward depth, ambiguity, and the textures of inner life.

I had a dream I was on a on a shelf in the refrigerator. Someone closes the door and the light goes off.
SPEAKER_01:The door opens, the light comes on. Moments when listening changes what can be spoken. When inner life, usually dark and closed, is briefly illuminated.
SPEAKER_02:Let your head rest on my hand. Relax. I got you. I'll promote. I'm not gonna let you go. Amen. I got you.
SPEAKER_01:And yet sometimes someone speaks what another person doesn't yet know they've been living.
SPEAKER_03:Hey man, I'm sorry about all that. All that shit what went down.
SPEAKER_01:This isn't an insight or a resolution or a cure. It's just contact. I'm Jonathan David Moss. These are apertures.
